Intro to Screen Printing

$50/ Person

1 Hour Workshop March 23rd 12pm-1pm

Learn the basics of screen printing with this one-hour introductory course hosted by resident artist Sleep is Famous. We'll cover techniques and materials, artwork prep, burning the design onto a silkscreen, and making the print. All ages and skill levels are welcome to attend.

From ancient China to Andy Warhol, screen printing (aka silkscreen) has long been an essential tool for artistic expression and as a means for rapid and widespread communication of ideas and images. Screen printed logos and design elements are all around us, including t-shirts, posters, street signs, banners and balloons. With hands-on instruction and examples from seasoned screen printer Sleep is Famous, participants will learn the basics of silkscreen prep and printing and will leave the session with their own hand-pulled fine art print.

All materials, including screens, emulsion, ink, paper, gloves and aprons will be provided. We recommend wearing clothing that you don't mind getting dirty (just in case). Classes are non-refundable.
